How Foretext handles your information.
The app does not collect personal data beyond your username and user ID.
Your chats are not stored in any database or sent to our servers. They stay only on your device.
Analysis of your text is performed on your device. This includes texting patterns, vocabulary, message length, and communication style.
Only when you send a query, a small portion of your chats and the analyses that were made on your device are sent to a third-party AI service to process that request. Specifically, this includes:
Your original chat export files are never sent. The AI provider’s handling of that data is covered by its privacy policy.
Our backend server acts as a secure relay and does not store your conversation data. No personal messages are permanently stored on any external server.
